RiverFest is a FREE family event that pays tribute to the many benefits of the Federal Hydropower system with a focus on the lower Snake River Dams. There will be educational exhibits, food vendors, speakers, hands on learning experiences, entertainment, and fun for the whole family!
September 7, 2019, All Day @ Columbia Park at the Edison Street Boat Ramp
The Columbia Crossing Swim benefits Columbia Basin Dive Rescue and is a cross-river swim of approximately 1.5 miles. Swimmers will start near the boat dock at Chiawana Park in Pasco and swim to the Edison Street boat ramp in Columbia Park, Kennewick, Washington. Water temperature is expected to be about 70 F with relatively light river currents. Wet suits are allowed, but flotation devices are not allowed.
Columbia Basin Dive Rescue, along with the Coast Guard Auxiliary, will be coordinating the safety boat network across the river. Swimmers will leave from the beach at Chiawana Park in one group. Swimmers will be expected to seed themselves accordingly in the starting pack. This is going to be a fun event that benefits a great cause…best of all, you’ll have bragging rights that you swam across the Columbia River! Read on for details:
