[ARCHIVED] TRIDEC Press Release: 3.19.2020

Tri-cities community call for action: critical health supplies are needed

Drop off collection of personal protection equipment (PPE) for tri-city regional health care providers

With the unprecedented COVID-19 impacting the region, our health care providers are in need of our help.  Critical health supplies are in demand at the four regional hospitals (Trios, Lourdes, Kadlec, and Prosser Memorial).  TRIDEC, Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce and Visit Tri-Cities, are partnering to help gather the needed supplies.

All of our local health care providers have a critical shortage of these items and global supply chains have ceased to exist.  As the Tri-Cities community has come together to meet this urgent need we also need a central, easy to access location for donations.  The members of the Tri-Cities Business and Visitor Center volunteered to be that central donation point while helping to communicate the need to the business community and the public at large.

If you or your business has any excess of the supplies listed below, we encourage you to drop them off at the Tri-Cities Business and Visitor Center (7130 W. Grandridge Blvd, Kennewick, WA 99362) Monday, March 23-Wednesday, March 25 between the hours of 11:00am-7:00pm.

Supplies in critical shortage:

  • Masks – Surgical Masks, N95 Masks, or Handmade
  • Disinfecting Wipes (Virucidal Preferred: Needs to State Kills Viruses)
  • Face Shields / Goggles
  • Thermometers (Home Use and Touchless/Infrared)
  • Finger Oximeter - Home Use
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Gloves (Non-Latex Preferred)
  • Isolation Gowns

We will be accepting new or opened boxes of supplies.  If you or your company has items or supplies that might not normally be used in a medical process but serve a similar purpose, please let us know.  We plan to collect all supplies submitted for potential use by our health care organizations.

Media is invited to attend during any of the posted times.  Karl Dye, President/CEO, TRIDEC and Jim Hall, representative of area health organizations, will be available for in-person interviews on Monday at 11:00am.  They are also available for phone interviews.

To schedule interviews with Karl or Jim, please contact Traci Jao at or 509-308-6763.
