Applications for the new Mini Citizen's Academy are now being accepted! The Mini Citizen’s Academy is a free two-night program designed to provide community members with a better understanding of the workings of their local government through interactive presentations by multiple departments. The academy covers a wide range of topics, including how the annual budget is developed, how public safety resources are deployed and Council priorities.
The academy will be held February 20th & 21st from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm in the City Hall Council Chambers – 210 W 6th Ave. Applications must be submitted by Monday, February 18th and space is limited. A full agenda will be provided before the first meeting.
While it is not required, the academy also provides a great opportunity to be better informed on City operations and priorities before applying for a position on one of our Boards or Commissions where you can get further involved in shaping your community. Applications for Boards and Commissions are also being accepted in February and interviews will be conducted in March.Citizen's Academy Application
