Public Art Opportunity: Traffic Utility Box Art for Kennewick, Washington

A Program of Kennewick Arts Commission

In partnership with STCU

The Kennewick Arts Commission is soliciting proposals for digital artwork for vinyl wrapping of traffic utility boxes throughout the city. 

The objective is to infuse art on an otherwise utilitarian surface, discourage graffiti and beautify street corners in Kennewick.


ARTWORK: The spirit of the art should reflect the theme of the zone in which the traffic box is located. Art Opportunity Zone Description and Map are available on our website at and listed at the end of this document.

Locations proposed in 2018:

  •  Hwy 395 and Hildebrand Blvd (Southridge)
  •  S Washington St and W 1st Ave (Historic Downtown)
  •  E Columbia Dr and N Gum St (Bridge to Bridge Revitalization Area)
  • E Columbia Dr and N Date St Crosswalk – fall of 2018install (Bridge to Bridge Revitalization Area)
  • Fruitland St and W Kennewick Ave (Historic Downtown)-art for this traffic box should reflect the historic homes in the area

Locations proposed in 2019:

  • Southridge Blvd and Hildebrand Blvd (Southridge)
  •  W Canal Dr and N Fruitland St (Historic Downtown)
  •  S Dayton St and W 1st Ave (Historic Downtown)
  •  S Benton St and W 1st Ave (Historic Downtown)
