The Police Citizen's Academy is a 5 week 10 session series of classes that provides an overview of the Kennewick Police Department's operations and functions. Classes meet Wednesday and Thursday evenings for approximately 2 1/2 hours each night. Citizen Academy is conducted annually in the Spring. If you're interested in attending applications are being accepted. Classes will start March 29, 2017 and end April 27, 2017.

Get a "Kick" out of watching your child soar in our Saturday-only soccer program designed to teach basic skills, fun games and modified mini-soccer games. We play 3 versus 3 games without goalkeepers to ensure maximum participation. Participants will learn important soccer skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing and receiving, rules of the games, sportsmanship and teamwork. Volunteer coaches needed. Please bring shin guards, a soccer ball and a water bottle. T-Shirt provided. Must pre-register. Please show up on the first day and you will be assigned to your team.
Program will be held at Lawrence Scott Park the first 5 weeks.

Challenger Sports First Kicks is a new and exciting program that teaches basic soccer skills while developing strength, balance, coordination, and teamwork in children ages 2 - 5. The Professional licensed British coaches will ensure your child has a positive First Kicks experience! First Kicks is a 45-minute soccer-specific activity session which will be held once a week for 5 weeks. Each participant receives a free ball, t-shirt, and Certificate of Achievement. Hit, run, slide! Come and learn basic baseball/softball skills through this FUN recreational Assisted/Coach Pitch program. It is for boys and girls ages 5-10 (boys & girls will play on separate teams) Intermediate Fast pitch is for girls only ages 11-14. Games will be played during the week except for one Saturday when pictures will be taken. Volunteer coaches are needed!

The Crime Resistant Community Living program is designed as a partnership among law enforcement, property owners/managers, and residents to help maintain quality of our communities and neighborhoods. The CRCL class is an 8-hour training session for property owners and managers, and it constitutes the first of 3 phases of the CRCL program. (The second phase is a security inspection of the property, making sure that minimum security requirements are met. And the third phase is the creation of a Community Watch program, where members of the PD meet with the residents of the property to discuss crime prevention tips, safety tips, when to call the police, etc., and what to look for.) This program is a great way to prepare your little one for pre-school or for Kindergarten! This is a fun recreational program for preschoolers to gain needed social skills through arts and crafts, games, numbers, colors, shapes, animals and more for a rewarding experience! So come and have fun splashing in the water table or scooping up beans on the bean table in this fun pre-school environment. Child must be potty trained. This is a year round program broken down into 7 week sessions depending on holidays and closures. Summer is broken down into 5 week sessions depending on holidays and closures.
