The analysis of crime, for any jurisdiction, is a vital component for police departments.    The primary focus of a Crime Analysis program is to identify the People, Places, Patterns and overall Problems that are influencing crime for any given area.  Being able to identify the who, what, when, where and often the why of crime gives law enforcement a distinct advantage in potentially identifying future crimes and “hot spots” within a jurisdiction.   This allows us to combat crime in the most effective way to keep our community safe.

The Kennewick Police Department currently has one Crime Analyst. This analyst works very closely with each division within our police department.  She also works very closely with our regional, state and federal partners to ensure communication of crime trends that are occurring within Kennewick and trends that could affect Kennewick.
