The Fire Chief is responsible for providing the community with the highest level of life safety and property protection, which includes fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical services, public education programs, code enforcement, building permit plan reviews /inspections, fire origin and cause investigations, and Emergency Management Services.
Executive Staff - City Attorney
The City Attorney is the legal advisor to the City Manager, Administrative Staff, and City Council. The City Attorney’s Office prosecutes misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor cases for the City. The City Attorney and such Assistant City Attorneys as may be authorized, represent the City in all civil proceedings.
Executive Staff - Chief of Police
The Police Chief provides oversight, as well as ensuring the day-to-day functioning of the organization. This includes administering and monitoring the budget, hiring appropriate personnel for the operation of the Police Department, ensuring compliance to contractual issues, and most importantly, ensuring public safety.
Executive Staff - Finance Director
The Finance Director is responsible for overseeing finance, budget, audit, financial reporting and customer service.
The Community Planning Department consists of three divisions: Long Range Planning, Development Services and Building Safety. The responsibilities of the Department include implementing the community’s long term vision and goals contained in the city’s Comprehensive Plan; administering land use policy and law and construction codes adopted by City Council. The Department supports several boards and commissions including City Council, Planning Commission, Historic Preservation Commission and Hearing Examiner.
Executive Staff - Director of Management Services
The Director of Management Services is responsible for overseeing the City Clerk's Office, Information Systems, Purchasing/Fleet/Warehouse, the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, and various cross-departmental special projects.
The Public Works Director is responsible for the Public Works/Engineering Division, Utility Services Division, and Traffic Division. Responsibilities include: administration of the design, construction and maintenance of City streets, stormwater, water and sewer services, and traffic control.
Executive Staff - Executive Director Employee and Community Relations
The Employee and Community Relations Executive Director provides leadership in all areas of Human Resource Management, Labor Relations, Employee Safety, Recreational Services, Senior Services, Tourism and Special Events.
