To request records, please download & submit the appropriate Public Records Request Form below. Please note that requests for public safety records are handled directly by the Police and Fire Departments.

Upon receiving a request  for records, the City will respond by:  (1) providing the record after payment of fees; or (2) providing an internet address and link on the City's website to the specific records requested, except that if the requestor notifies the City that he/she cannot access the records through the internet, then the City will provide copies of the record; or (3) acknowledging receipt of the request and providing a reasonable estimate of the time the City will need to respond to the request; or (4) denying the records request.  Additional time may be required to respond to a request because of the need to seek clarification, to locate and assemble the information requested, to notify third parties or agencies affected by the request, or to determine whether any of the information requested is exempt and that a denial should be made as to all or part of the request (RCW 42.56.520).

Once the records have been assembled, you will be notified that the records are available for your review. Copies of records can be requested after the review is completed, or you may request to have copies made without conducting a review of the files. A fee of 15 cents per page (or per side on two-sided copies) is charged for letter and legal size copies of documents. Copy charges for non-standard pages or other media can be found in the respective fee schedule.
