Advance registration and payment is required. Please register early, classes may be cancelled if registration is insufficient. We reserve the right to cancel, reschedule or combine activities as needed.
Youth Financial Assistance
Financial assistance for youth is available on a limited basis for those who meet residency and income requirements. It's easy to apply,1) go online, click on ‘Scholarship Program’, left column on the Parks, Recreation, Tourism home page, or 2) just pick up a scholarship form at the Recreation & Community Services office, 2901 Southridge Blvd. at the Southridge Sports & Events Complex. To enable as many participants as possible in our scholarship program, we have initiated a co-payment for programs/activities. The process takes approximately two weeks, so please start early.
Thank you for your support & enrollment. In the unlikely event your class or program is cancelled you will receive a full refund by check, mailed within 7-10 business days (credit card transactions will be issued back to the same credit card account). At any time a participant requests a refund, or a refund from your "recreation credit on account", you will be subject to a $6 administrative fee. The $6 administrative fee will not be imposed if you request to be transferred to another class or activity or request the registration fee to be transferred to your "recreation credit on account" (to be used for any Kennewick Recreation program or class within the calendar year). Once the activity has started or after the established deadline, all refund and transfer options will be forefeited.
In the unlikely event your program is cancelled, we will notify you by e-mail or phone. You may transfer to another program, receive a credit, or receive a full refund within two weeks of the cancellation.
Class sizes are limited. Registration will be on a first come, first served basis.
Fair Share Fee Policy
Residents who live outside of the city limits of Kennewick are encouraged to participate in all programs; however, fees for “nonresidents” are higher than those for “residents” for many of our programs and classes. Nonresidents do not pay property taxes that support City services. Boundaries used by the Post Office, the Kennewick School District, and the Kennewick Fire Department are not the same as city limit boundaries, so even though you may have a Kennewick mailing address, you may be considered a nonresident. If you need help determining whether you live inside or outside the city limits, please call our office at (509) 585-4293.
